One that I should really, probably, most likely be actually studying for.
But you can only do so much, you know? I either know it or I don't. Yeah. Or, I've yet to come to terms with the fact that ten percent of my science grade depends on whatever happens tomorrow morning. Good lord.
the good thing is how this is all panning out for NaNoWriMo. Day off Tuesday, day off next Thursday, Thanksgiving, not too much homework, et cetera. It works out very well to write so many words each day which, if you're wondering, is going swimmingly. Way better than last year's at this stage although admittedly that was nothing short of horrendous from the get go. I'm better now with the idea that's it about just getting the words down, not making them sound terribly good.
On my day off I got orange gloves that I will most likely never wear for I've nothing to wear them with, which is a shame because they're just so incredibly lovely. and a sweatshirt. Frankly I feel I need more clothes but I dunno what clothes I want at the moment. *shrugs* I probably look stupid most of the time but I don't really wanna wear a lot of the stuff that's in Forever 21. I don't know how people actually pull of the stuff in there. And by pull off, I mean like normal. this is New England, not Paris. People here actually manage to make hipster clothes look untrendy, which is obviously I skill I will never master. Not that I know a whole ton about clothes beyond, like, Style Rookie and "oh, that's a nice color of t-shirt".
I have too many t-shirts. too many unisex t-shirts. they don't fit or work for me but oh they're so comfy, especially when I have to get dressed at like quarter past six every morning and I'm like "screw looking halfway decent". I can do that when I wake up on nine every saturday. Well, sort of. to the best of my ability I can.
I had a Spanish quiz yesterday which was easy and today i had to present a Spanish skit. I'm growing to hate this teacher, hate this language, et cetera. If I could turn back time, first thing I'd do is make myself take German instead. cause German is so cool. and also in the skit today we were doing a scene at a restaurant. I'm the customer who is a total bitch and has more lines than anyone else. One of my lines is 'Que Asco!" or "how gross" which by the way I wouldn't say in real life ever because A.) the word gross is, well, gross B.) I would end up nearly suicidal for all the mocking because of my accent and C.) Seriously, who actually complains about their food at a restaurant? No one! If you don't wanna eat it you don't technically have to. you don' have to tip either. No one actually complains to the waiter that their food tastes bad. my Spanish teacher had a go at me for not being expressive enough, so she's like "okay, say it in English". So, I do, as humiliating and aggravating as it was. and she laughs because I was expressionless, she thought, although a better term was "angry and anxious and terrified". I say the line in front of the class as best I can--I'm not an actor in any language, okay?--and she laughs. and then she says to the class after the skit "we quizzed naomi on it before, and she says it like that[lacking in expression] in English, too." I was busy ignoring her completely and getting a book from my bag, seeing as I'm apparently so lacking in emotion, although frankly, I was very, very, very pissed off. How dare she say that at all, let alone in front of the entire class? I hate this total...war against people who aren't the most extroverted and out-there people in the world. I hate it. It's everywhere! How many times a day am I asked to talk more? I can't even begin to count. Asked to be something I'm not. Ridiculed for being who I am. Humiliated and embarrassed and occasionally rather isolated for something that basically is beyond my control. Great. thank you, spanish teacher airhead snobby stuck up bitch.
Gym memories are flooding back from 8th grade. today we played matball. My entire class hates me because I do nothing, and I guess in some ways they're being very reasonable for hating me, but also people aren't necessarily hated by their peers for doing nothing in other classes, are they? I guess that's my educational Achilles Heel. I learn way better by doing stuff largely on my own. By the way, I also hate being told to run around the gym( technichally we didn't have to run but of course that rule evaporates the moment the game starts and it's not like the teachers care), kick a ball badly, be shouted at, laughed at, and stand, nothing short of terrified, hoping the ball doesn't go anywhere near you. "this game is supposed to be fun for everyone". Yeah, well why the fuck don't you try to achieve that?
Before the game started, my teacher was like "now, since this game is fun for everyone, if someone looks like they'd be okay with having a ball thrown at them, then you can do that. If they don't, then don't. For example, I don't think she would like to have the ball thrown at her because she's not the most interactive of people, so respect that."
Bet you can't guess whose shoulders her hands were on, who these embarrassing words were aimed at.
Sigh.
I had the big dreaded math test today for triangles I don't understand. Good thing is, no orthocenters or proofs. some stuff was a bit confusing and there were a few things I totally didn't get, but I did get at least one bonus right(with a circle, hahahaha), and apparently everyone struggled. Also I'm an a in that class so whatever.
Today I took a partner test which confused me and reviewed. Sorry to bring up a sort of recurring theme to this post, but my teacher was asking me about something and she was like "you know, I think this is the first time we've had a long enough conversation for me to work out you have an accent." She laughs. "You don't talk much".
you know you've had a bad day when this doesn't even enter your top five of worst moments.
Tomorrow will not go well but I'm an A- in science so it shouldn't be, like, horrendous or anything. or it could. actually, no, it will. Please no more energy stuff, Mrs. Teacher, that's killing me. wow I'm actually quite scared now. And how do i study for that? I've no idea!

Countdown; 22 Days.
I can't wait. Mark, Jez, Superhans, and I guess technically Jesse and Sam, you rock. blogspot won't let me post that annoying heart emoticon, but I promise you that is so appropriate here.
I can't stop listening to Robyn or eating Pringles. Weekend soon. I'm happy and slightly neurotic, or I wish I was.
I need to study. Bye Bye.

Don't Be A Nightingale For Anyone's Space To Fill
American Mary - The National
This is what I was trying to post yesterday. I HATE YOU BLOGSPOT.
Hey.
My parents are out looking at furniture or something , my sister is upstairs but for some reason left Nickelodeon running on the TV. I've been doing science homework but the section I had to take notes on was enormous and my back started to hurt so I watched Peep Show, ate pringles, and came here.
It's a deadbeat autumn Saturday afternoon.
Or, it was. Whatever.
I had a great time at the party Friday overall. There were 13 of us and some people dressed up but I didn't. When asked my favorite celebrity I said Tim Minchin, although depending on your viewpoint you might not consider him famous. Anyway, on second thoughts I realised I could not do that hair and I don't have time to go looking for color-changing contacts or tail coat suits. There wasn't a whole lot to do there once you got over the Top 40 radio, strobe light, and the annoyance of someone turning the lights off periodically and everyone else screaming for no reason, it was a lot of fun. We delved into your typical gossipy party games, ate, watched TV, went outside briefly, had a sort of failed attempt at a Ouija board, and all of that stuff. It was funny and fun and you know...let's say socially comfortable for me. That's a stupid term I'm gonna pen, but live with it. Plus, few people infuriated me beyond belief which is weirdly rare. I love my random splurges of supposed socialness. It's fun.
Oh yeah. And that night, my sister had a birthday party for a friend, and a sleepover. As a present, her and her other friend made a giant ugly doll. It is like five feet tall. It wouldn't fit in the car so they had to put the ugly doll in one car and themselves in the other. The whole thing was ridiculous.*
Today(as in, like, today today. Be expecting time paradox things tonight, folks) I bought a t-shirt, did homework, and stayed home. Again, not bad. It's been a good weekend. I am sick of triangles and my math homework took an eternity today. Also, I added CDs to my iPod. Nothing much beyond that. Funny that.
Hang on, I'm gonna go fetch a CD.
Back. Ah, Editors, lovely. I could probably marry Tom Smith's voice alone. In this light and on this evening, this song's become the most beautiful thing I've heard. Watch clips from them at Glasto. It's gorgeous beyond belief. Saw 'em at V but obviously there are no videos from V this year. Especially of Editors for some reason.
There's a big misconception in music that Interpol are better than Editors. I'm just trying to clear that up. Editors are, too. This album's a beaut.
Did you hear Thom Yorke's doing a charity single that's just two minutes of silence? Jesus Christ! What an idiot! I like my Radiohead, of course, but Thom Yorke alone is just dumb. Thom Yorke solo = beyond overrated. I'm not gonna elaborate on that. I fear for my life for saying that alone.
Oh yes, how could I forget school. It's going swimmingly. Like I said, I hate triangles. I presented my bridge project in geometry about bridges. I was very, very scared but overall it wasn't bad. My teacher was annoyed that I couldn't find the designer. I was annoyed because I COULDN'T. That information just wasn't there to be found! I'm serious! It's irritating that my grade is lowered because of that. The good thing is that it meant I got a free day Friday where I got to read while everyone else presented their projects. Fun fun fun. Science, the test was trickier than I expected but it wasn't impossible by any means. Momentum and energy suck, okay? That is all I have to say. And, Spanish is just easy vocab and stuff. We're making salsa on Tuesday for some reason. We're in small groups and we're being tested in this stuff. It's weird. I don't actually care for much salsa...or Mexican food...I don't actually know why I'm learning this language.
Also I'm going on a field trip Tuesday for Geo. Good thing it clashes with salsa!
My gym teacher didn't get as angry with me as expected. I got zero points on Friday. We're doing harder stuff and people want me to participate but no, just no. I hate it. I basically don't understand this entire class. Why am I being forced to put a harness on? I don't understand. Why every time I wander past does the teacher ask "so, you're considering doing this, Naomi!" when I blatantly am not? I don't understand. Why does no one see that it's the 40 people looking, not the height, that scares me? I don't understand. Why do people think it's related to my quietness? I don't understand. And for Gods sake HOW is this activity supposed to make me happy and brave and have self esteem? It's a fucking log between two trees. I'll forget about it the moment I get off. It won't make me feel smart or accomplished. Knowing me I'll feel fidgety and anxious and want to disappear into the background. How this activity is supposed to be beneficial, I will never know. It's so weird. BS.
So anyway, that's basically what's happened in the last few days since I wrote here. It's not much but there we go.
I STILL DON'T KNOW WHAT I'M DOING HALLOWEEN NIGHT. It's weird. I'm rather excited for Florence that night. but I don't know what's happening beforehand. The following week my sister is going to have a very cold, miserable few days in Maine as part of her adventure that all of her grade do. That means? No more "Ugh, Peep Show again?" or "when are you gonna stop playing piano" or "I need the computer". Bliss!
Speaking of Peep Show, Peep Show Quote Of The Post is gonna become a regular thing now because I, er, want to fuck Mark Corrigan's brain into my brain. that's actually a variation on a PS thing but never mind that because it is beyond weird and I don't even totally mean it, believe me. But anyway;
"War's never a picnic....although obviously soldiers do end up eating outdoors a lot" - Mark.
Print that on a t-shirt and I will pay you all my money for it. Just saying.
New PS series; 32 days and counting.
Also, there's a new series of Never Mind The Buzzcocks just started, My second favorite show. Oh my God! Oh my God! Oh my God! ...yeah, I can't watch it. wrong country I am afraid. Obviously it's absolute nothingness without Simon but NMTB got me through 8th grade, in a weird way, and Noel is cool, so I feel I'll at least watch the show illegally on YouTube in a few months. I owe it that much.
Oh, my mother wants to listen to Tim Minchin. She says she's curious. I think she'll like him. Mostly I just feel very happy that I live in a family where I'm allowed to listen to songs with filthy(yet very, very witty) lyrics, watch crude television, and read adult books. Most parents wouldn't want their kids listening to Tim. I'm glad mine are more open minded.
I'm not as bad as I was last night, but I'm not being terribly eloquent at the moment. Last night I was talking about not being a morning/night person, ideally being an evening person, but realistically being a sleep person. The time doesn't feel right now.
The good thing is my writing is way less sluggish tonight. I haven't had a slow day in weeks and weeks and weeks so I was in a weird mood yesterday. But I'm better now. And about done here.
So, bye blog. Save please?
Thanks.

Cool Weekend.
hello world.
guess what I just discovered? I got an A- in Spanish. Totally fine, but I FAILED PARTICIPATION. When I say failed, I mean failed--F. I've never gotten an F before. The teachers all threatened that they're serious about participation grades, but my Spanish teacher is obviously the only one to be following her own rule. Personally I don't understand the point of participation or its grades and it obviously hasn't affected my grade too much, so who cares? The fact that I got an F I find weirdly amusing. Haha!
this weekend in review; awesome. Like, best weekend of the school year so far because I really am that easily pleased. Friday I sorta did badly on an unfair Spanish quiz, did bad-ish on a science test although no one finished so we have to finish on Tuesday. My teacher was so annoyed by that and it was pointless for me because I will never understand projectile motion and all I have left are bonuses, which I can do because they're just pendulums and stuff. No big deal. Deserving of, say, a B at least. Geometry found out I did badly on a math test-79. Blah. Then we were given a project about bridges and talked about triangles. There's a bridge in Lisbon called the 25 de Abril Bridge. that's my birthday and I thought it was awesome so I hope I can do that one. And then I had last period study hall which is blisfully pointless on a Friday.
Came home, went for a walk in that lovely autumn breeze, and went to this theme park specially done up for Halloween this month with three friends. It was basically ridiculously amazing. Took us a while to get there(we had to sit in the car outside one of my friends house because she was doing errands when we got there!) and I don't really do rides. Or haunted houses 'cause I'm a coward. But it was so much fun. We took a picture in one of those cheesy photo booths, watched one of my friends be buried alive, made an idiot out of myself as I was chased by a guy with a chainsaw, suffered my way through a little bit of my first candy apple(never. again.), threw candy off the top of a ferris wheel while having semi-ironic Through The Grapevine discussions that were so High School, talked endlessly about hot guys, got lost in a house of mirrors, lost a game of air hockey, payed for absolutely everyone's stuff, ate too much disgusting popcorn, and had many an awkward hug. And just generally had a good Friday night with people I like, as opposed to a growing number of people I dislike in my classes, and spending Friday night reading and watching Peep Show.
Yeah. It rocked.
Saturday was my usual guitar lesson in the morning--working on Libertines, by the way--and then your usual afternoon, went to the mall with the same group of people, plus another friend, and one of their friends. No one is our group is necessarily a real sort of shopping addict but I have nothing against trying on a million knit hats that don't suit me or wandering(appauled)through Spencers. All your usual clothes stores. Saw nothing that I particularly liked and I don't need any clothes, but I did buy an Imogen Heap CD in FYE and I got a badge that says "Meh" in Hot Topic for my sister because it's sort of her catchphrase. All my friends know that, too. At one point we all met up outside Bertuccis and for most of us had our first experience of ordering at a restaurant without our parents. We shared a pizza and stuff and talked people at school and how I am like Ferb, among other things. Kinda a weirdly amazing experience. Oh, and I got a smoothie at the end of the trip. At home I watched Grilled Cheesus for the sole purpose of being offended, and then turned my friend onto Tim Minchin, sort of.
Again. Rockage. If you're okay with such stupid use of language.
Sunday I went to a fair with my family plus my sister's friend. It was your usual greasy all-American commercial setup but I guess there are worse ways to spend a Sunday.
Came home, watched a Richard Dawkins documentary and did a really short blo post.
And today had a slow morning(cheers, Columbus), went out in the afternoon to Barnes and Noble. I got another Ellen Hopkins book, something by Alice Sebold, a nonfiction music book, and something about Euclid and Geometry. Did math homework, researched bridges, watched Mock The Week, read for an hour, caught up on piano, went for another walk, obsessed over Biffy Clyro interviews, and arrived here.
In essence, it was amazing. Ah I love weekends. So much has happened that last week now feels like an eternity away and I don't wanna go back. Oh well. The whole of October is set to be great and this is a short week, so who cares?
Only thing worrying about tomorrow, other than the whole, you know, it just generally being school thing and I have a 'stalker', is gym. Trust falls were fun, right, I'll admit that and rarely will I admit that about anything school related. But tomorrow we're going out onto the adventure course and everyone's supposed to do it. everyone. My teacher says you don't have to do it; no, you're just peer pressured and egged on and mocked if you choose not to and you let your class down if you're the only one who doesn't. Yeah, that totally leaves it up to choice. The whole class is just BS, there's no two ways around it. I'm actually dreading it. My Plan is, basically, I'm gonna wear the longest, flar-iest, most ridiculous lyinappropriate jeans I own. Maybe if your clothes aren't suitable I won't be able to do it, or something? health and safety and all that. I don't do the gym clothes thing. it's always worth a go!
Now I'm just watching Biffy Clyro interviews. my TV is broken. Shooting Stars cold turkey. there isn't a whole lot to do.
Now I remember why blogging every three to four days created not the most interesting of posts. Which is weird due to what a great time I've been having. Huh.
Now I'm just gonna watch Biffy interviews because Simon is effing adorable. There's no arguing that.
And of course, not look forward to tomorrow.
But October, you rock. Just saying.
Oh shoot, I need to do some nanoplanning, for which I have a weak, almost plagiarised idea coming together. It's better than nothing! November's gonna be a mad, mad month. And I can't wait.
Anyway. Gotta go. See you, world.

Hello blog.
I'm sorry it's been a month and a bit and I've only done ten posts. I feel kinda guilty, like somehow I should feel guilty because of my blog of all things. I used to post every three days. Now I'm averaging five. I just feel like that isn't properly recording what I wanna record, you know? Sigh.
Not that there's a whole heck of a lot to report. Life at the moment? The leaves are falling, I have a love/hate relationship with gym, I'm going to a Halloween-themed theme park thing with friends tomorrow, I've become such a Shooting Stars addict that I've been watching some stuff from series 1 online, I'm gonna see Weezer in December, and I like sitting in hallways in the morning reading books and unintentionally staring at people.
Overall, not too bad. On the Weezer note, I dunno if you heard about the way they're touring, but I'm seeing them the day they're playing the Blue Album. Not a huge Pinkerton fan, me. And I'm not actually getting Hurley. I just thought they'd be fun to see.
Autumn's so short here that I really need to get into the spirit, like, now, because this is Massachusetts and for all I know we could have two feet of snow tomorrow. That'd really suck. I haven't really gotten the chance to enjoy it. My favorite thing about autumn is going for walks but I can't. Homework. High school hates people being happy, right? Silly high school. But October's a really great month. I loooooooooove October.
School's been up and down this week! I had such a great gym class today. Next week we're going outside to do these kinda, I don't know, adventure courses. Walking on planks of wood, zip lines, that sort of thing. To prepare for it we've had to do a lot of trust exercises. It's as stupid as it sounds. I will never trust all seventeen other people in my class. I do not even come close to liking several of them. So trust is kinda dumb, but hey, it's not actual sports which sometimes is all I can ask for. We did trust falls on Tuesday, and today we did trust falls off the bleachers in the gym. Your feet are probably about seven feet off the ground from the top of the bleachers. below you, said seventeen other kids holding their hands out criss-crossed with the people opposite them, kinda cheering you on as you stand there, wishing they'd just stop because you can't stand the attention. The drop's the easy bit. I'm not really scared of heights or falling anyway. Your heart kinda sinks as it does, and it is quite possible I started flailing my hands in the air although I can't really remember, and then you're awkwardly being held by a dozen of your classmates. Rather more exhilarating than I've found this Team Work shtick so far this year. Going out into the woods Monday. With this so-called new lease of 'trust' in my peers, will I be able to do whatever horrors are set forward? Who knows.
That being said, the logic problems they give us are pretty humiliating. It's a thing where you're "in" when you get them, and mocked by the "in" while you're out. I'm always the last to get them. And by get them, I mean be told by someone whilst in the locker room. I'm not a moron, sort of, though I wouldn't say I'm smart either. Guess it's just not my sort of logic. But the fact that I'm being publicly humiliated, feel embarrassed, and start to hate myself when the class is over...what's the point of that? Usually the psychology behind most of these games are pretty simple, but this. What kind of mind games are they trying to pull? Honestly, I'm seeing no benefits.
Geometry we had our little party on Monday. Had cake. Felt a bit baffled at the confusion of our relatively simple chapter we've been working on and why we had to do extra review. Took a look at our test today, and mentally ran through my list of "I'm really pissed off now" vocabulary. How dare she give us a proof worth eight points! Not a single person in the class can do proofs! And I know I got zero points 'cause I somehow ended up talking about a parallelogram and there's no doubt in my mind that that was a mile away from where I was supposed to be, So, pretty much screwed up the third test, the one I thought was simple. It's just slope and theorems, right? Wrong. That test was evil. I didn't even have TIME for the bonus questions, let alone racking my brains for answers! Anyway. I got new seats and I'm with a girl who has labelled me a superhero, and another that has declared that I don't talk much because when I talk, world disasters happen.
I will never know about science until the day of a test. I have one tomorrow. Could potentially be a disaster or rather fantastic. Who knows, right? Stupid Newton, he's really annoying. I have a Spanish quiz tomorrow, too. Know the ideas, though not all the vocab, and not enough time to really understand it. Uuuuugh. Good news is, I'm getting better at Spanish. I'm near kids of a similar level, and all we've been doing this week is busy work and practising skits. Presented those today, too. Was the only one in my group who knew all the lines, and I was the one who was mocked for lack of emotion. A bit unfair.
Today coming home the person I feel obligated to sit next to just 'cause, was elsewhere so I got the whole seat and it almost looked really warm outside. So bright. The bus was nearly empty. I'm just saying. And such a light homework load. Musing over logic problems and gravity. Easy day.
I'm getting back into the swing of piano. I'm just saying, thank you Tim Minchin. the sort of obsession one is allowed to feel for a musician would be considered weird for just about anybody else. And by musician, I mean 'normal' musician. Sorry Tim. People would think I'm weird for how much I like Tim Minchin. Who cares? I was listening to a few of his songs earlier, then I went back to practice my much much simpler little pieces and just kinda had a new energy for the way I was playing. I was playing badly, not that Tim does obviously, but I was having so much fun. Tim is basically awesome, though of course you already knew it.
And I bought an Arcade Fire CD. Again, just saying.
I do not honestly know why I don't want these paragraphs to flow anymore.
Blah.
Blah.
Blah.
Right, now I just sound ridiculous.
LAST THING; NaNo update; nothing to report. Not good! I can come up with characters. Really dumb, cliched, cookie-cutter characters, but characters nonetheless. I have some stupid plots. No good plots. I've been writing stuff out, hoping that something will kinda pop out. Again, stupid things. I've another three weeks to have that brilliantly revolutionary literary idea pop into my head.
That, or I'm copying Mark Danielewski. Ideas?
Past tenses and forces await studying, friends. Night.

without him I am only revolutions of ruin.
Hello world.
I'm eating salt and vinager crisps/chips/whatever at the moment. They're my favorite kind. It's weird because most places don't sell them. And also, salt and vinegar are suppsoed to be blue, ready salted red, etcetera. I hate when they mess around with the colors. I love how I'm refering to 'them' like they're this big corporation we're supposed to oppose. I mean yeah they're a big coporation but I sound like I'm trying to be such a rebel for disliking crisp colors. Yeah, fight the power.
I'm just about done with homework now. I mean, I'm totally and completely lost with math at the moment and I have a test tomorrow which is fantastic obviously. What exactly is the point of a geometric proof? I hate it. Everyone at my table(which, by the way, is all the shy kids thrown together for no real reason. Silly teacher) was completely lost, too, and the teacher made it no clearer. My mom looked at it, and she had no clue either. The rules are too stupid and particular you can't do anything with them. So fail this test I will.
I'm probably best at math out of everything at the moment, oddly. I got 100% on a quiz last week. First 100% of the year and I really didn't deserve it but oh well, a hundreds a hundred right? Spanish is going okay in terms of quizzes and stuff, although I had an oral quiz last week which did not go too well. I keep making an idiot of myself in front of the class, but that happens the whole time anyway. At least we changed seats and I'm sitting next to a friend of a friend and this quiet guy who seems nice, rather than the snob and the guy who cracks his gum too loud. And we haven't sung anything in a few days, hoorah.
Science is going okay too. Got an 85% on a test. Not great but I'd say fairly average judging by the looks of things. I did okay on my lab which is weird because I hate labs. I actually like Newton's laws this time around. I hated it in 7th grade. It makes sense now and I like it.
Things are just generallys o much better than 6/7/8th grades now, anywa. I miss seeing all my friends evereyday, but I do not miss how nervous and stressed and stuff I felt last year. I feel so much better now. I do miss seeing all my friends in the hallway but just about everything else is okay.
Oh, except gym. Gym was a nigthmare today. In gym you basically have to physically attach me to someone running to make me run. Remarkabley, they knew that. I was in a chain of people today holding hands as they ran to catch other people. I hate running. Then we had to do one of this logic problems where you're standing on mats and you can barely make everyone fit and you end up just holding on to each other for dear life. And then, get this, we play this puzzle game and if you get it you're "in the possy" and if you don't you're out until you do. I never get that stuff anyway but whatever. I was actually told by someone else how to do it I just couldn't be bothered. That's the honest truth. But it's sort of humiliating ansd unfuriating how when you're the last of two people left and everyone's giving it away and laughing. Especially now that the group's supposed to be about friendship and making conncections and having higher self esteem. BS. And then these girls who I actually like walked back mocking my accent. My accent kinda gave away the trick that got me into the group. Partly why I was embarassed with it. But anyway, it's weird with the accent thing because A it hasn't happened in a long time and B Rarely was it as bad as that. I'm not saying it's such enormous discrimination because it obviously isn't, it's just sort of frustrating and sadenning when it happens. I wad acvtually pretty upset after all that. Read my book in the hallway after gym. Ha.
I have study hall tomorrow. It's both a laugh and a burden. Some girl's started sneaking in now to talk to her boyfriend who's so loud and disrupts everyone anyway, and she just kinda doubles it. Poor kid in my class is fourteen and looks half his age and he has now developed the niockname "Minny Allen" And then they throw paper planes and giggle and the happy couple kiss and it's blooding annoying. Then again, it's not gym.
Had a great weekend, too. it was *name of my town* Day on Saturday which was great fun. Got slightly freaked by all thepeople I could potentially happen(don't know what that happens, but id does) but it was great, they had a lot of stores and it was well into the 80s temperature wise which was great because I'm growing to hate fall. I got Swiss bread that I got before. Walked around. Looked at stuff. I like days like this. And, oh, get this, The Candles were there. The Candles are huge. Reviewed in the NME and everything. I 'd actually heard of them before, which is weird for such a smalle event. They really didn't deserve The Candles, but hey, they got them! And it was great. Adorable. great summer music. I got their CD although I'm not sure it's the sort of thing I would ordinarily listen to. Still, it was fun. Next Saturday I have a neighborhood autumn party type thing. A ton of people are going and it's gonna be absolutely phenomenal. Can't wait.
I read the new Ellen Hopkins book, Fallout and it was pretty mediocre. Fun to read but had no plot. I'm not sure how realistic her characters are but I can never really see myself in normal teen characters, so maybe I'm not the best resource for that. I loved Crank and Glass was pretty good and I've read a lot of her other books and I liked those, but Fallout didn't quite do it for me.
I ordered (the readable) Only Revolutions sa few days ago because I am really that much of a Biffy Clyro fan. I'm like 40 pages in and my God it is phenomenal. Almost compelte nonsense, but profundly beautiful, intimindating, unique, revolutionary, poetic, realistic, entertaining, daunting. You spend half your time reading it upside down and it's clever. There are some things that are so quotable in there, too. It's extordariny. Writing hasn't really done anything new in...well, quite a long time and it's people like this guy who make it more interesting. Like, way more itneresting. it's nothing short of spectacular, I promise you, and easily one of my favorite books. Anyone who can read must go and read it NOW.
I'm gonna cram for math and find a song I like that's actually on iTunes. It will be a tricky hour. Then I'm gonna forget all of that and listen to the Pope Song by Tim Minchin until I fall asleep.
Guten nacht, all.

the birds and the bees have all caught STDs(not that this is at all relevant)
Hello world.
Guys, a line has been met. I have now officially seen every single Peep Show episode there has been. Yes, it is very sad. Until November there is no more Mark Corrigan quotes for me to discover. Very sad indeed. Until November I'll just have to keep updating my AIM with random excerpts of wit and keep telling myself I will one day create a band called the Big Beat Manifesto, just because of Jez and Superhans. I thought that was worth noting.
I'm listening to Tinie Tempah for some reason I can't really explain. Enough of that. I can't explain my music at the moment--I'm on a poetry writing tip which never happens because I can't write anyway, I barely practiced piano this week, and my CD player keeps vomiting up the All Time Low CD I impulse purhcased over the weekend. When I say vomiting, they can actually write a better whiny emo song than most. Maybe it's the hair. At least, that's what all their copycat bands seem to think it is.
Oh, but I got Brandon's new album. I'm gonna see him now--It's a loyalty thing I can't seem to shake. I wanted to see The Antlers--I saw them in June--but it was 18+. Again. Why is it 18+? it's so unfair.
It felt like summer again--yay, I'm slightly happier and feel free! Today the weather got to eighty degrees or around there and I got to wear shorts in the afternoon. Not at school sadly. It's freezing when I wake up anyway. My lunch table was stupid again and we didn't sit outside. I guess it's not my choice. I choose to sit with them, I sit where they sit, but it was so nice outside. They also talked about how certain phones suit certain genders and some peoples' 8th grade English teacher. Again. I need a new lunch table.
I'm not sure what there is to say about school, but that's all that's really going on, so I suppose I'm obliged to. A few days ago I somehow gave myself a headache from yawning so much. I didn't know that was possible--hey, turns out it is. I got to miss half of Spanish, which was great because I'm growing to hate Spanish. Oh yes, that's something else entirely--I regret Spanish. I was gonna take German because I'm so bad at Spanish, but then I figured German would be much the same, except with three articles and a lot more unpronounceable words. So, Spanish it was. Turns out, not a good idea. While my quizzes are going okay, I guess, I keep humiliating myself because we keep playing games and going in the language lab(which is a vile thing, regardless of language or teacher) and I can never do anything right. It kinda sucks. I'm gonna switch to German next year. I'm sick of being told German isn't as useful as Spanish. I just generally hate the idea that another language is useful. It isn't. Less so as we get older than now, even. That's not to say another language shouldn't be learned. Of course it should! The usefulness thing, though, that's not the point--it's all about culture. You just don't realise that when you start age eleven. So yeah, I'll learn German instead, although it seems to happen all the emo kids are in German. Not sure why. If I do German next year I'll be in a class of emo freshman, I would imagine. Joy of joys.
Gym class. Gym class. It's a love/hate relationship. I was actually forced into running yesterday and then we did the most humiliating games. First this clapping and naming things game, which I lose virtually every time. And then this game where everyone has to run under a jump rope(increasing sets of tasks once that's done) and if you do it wrong, everyone starts it again. You know me, I'm always the one to run at the wrong time, conjugate the simple verbs incorrectly, or write the answers in science in letters rather than numbers. I am that person. And it doesn't help having the weight of 36 people on my shoulders. My stupid brain. Hell, how is there any point to that game? To humiliate me? To be given sneering looks from other girls in the class and laughs from the guys? That's supposed to help with the self esteem crap and have fun and make us participate as a team as opposed to shout at each other? There's a flaw in that logic. The good thing is, we're supposedly working so badly as a team, that they might split up our two classes meaning my class of like eighteen. All my friends included. Aha, yes--that would be heavenly. Probably not gonna happen, but I can hope.
today was picture day. Not much going on there. A half hour out of classes, hoorah!
Tomorrow I have both a Spanish and a Geometry quiz. We're doing statements and conditionals in geometry, it's good because it barely appears mathematical. On the contrary, science appears very mathematical at the moment, I'm so done with physical science when I get the chance. No, biology all the way, no matter what my family keeps doing. But today in science we got off to a tangent about astronomy and velocity and gravity and stuff and no one started rolling their eyes or anything. Like, it was in complete seriousness. I have the greatest science class ever. Like in the mornings, I'm normally the second outside my class and eventually it becomings a coming and going of like fifteen people. Which is great fun, because I'm normally so quiet most of the day, it's nice to get out there the slightest bit for a little while. Today I was talking to three or four people in my Science class, one in my Spanish, one at lunch, and some friends of acquaintances. I don't know why I love those mornings so much-but I do.
Mockingjay is the most overrated book imaginable. come on, I could have written that. Oh wait, I'm too realistic to write a character as pathetically fake as Katniss, I think. And the plot isn't even interesting, like the first two. Come on. And stop patronizing me, author--Yes, I do know about war, thank you very much. Your stupid post-apocalyptic nonsense didn't clear anything up. One star. Wonderful.
"The birds and the bees, have all caught STDs". Just thought I should mention that. LYRICS OF THE YEAR. Nice one, Mystery Jets.
I didn't have that much to do today, but I did have piano and I have studying. Bye blog

It's Nine Twelve
Hello.
Miraculously, I finished my homework today and it wasn't even six. How great is that? Thank you school. Some days I hate you. Some days I love you. you're being especially weird and moody at the moment. I wonder why that is.
I was gonna start this a half hour ago, but I was distracted by Peep Show quotes and Kevin Devine. It's very difficult to go hunting down new music, you know, when I'm trying to write something. I might go get High Violet from downstairs. Matt from The National's voice is one that will surely grate after a few listens, sadly, or at least I think. If you listen to it too consistently, actually, rather than too much. Wait, what am I saying? That makes no sense. What I find beautifully ironic about Matt is that he has a slimmer vocal range than your average person, let alone your average singer, and yet he wins all these "Best male Voice" awards the whole time. I'm not saying he doesn't deserve it--my God, he does. He's voice is stunning. The whole thing is funny, that he's so good. I hate the idea lately that art is about doing as much as you can as fast as you can. It isn't. Art is so much more. Thus, I present to you, The National.
Anyway, I didn't mean to write that. So, school, school, school. I got 11% above average on a science test. Pretty damn good considering I did not deserve such a grade. We're working on speed and acceleration and vector quantities. Don't ask. I don't wanna know about all that stuff anyway. Who would? Spanish I had a quiz today and, again, I was too lucky with that stuff. I shouldn't deserve to understand it all. Possibly the best Spanish class so far. I'm growing to hate all of them. Geometry I have a quiz tomorrow and I'll probably do okay, it's just vocab this time around. My Geometry teacher's annoyed because I don't talk enough, or something*, but hey, so is everyone. It shouldn't really bother me as much as it does. She's annoying, though. She gives more homework than Science and Spanish combined and claims it will take a half hour. No, it won't. If I knew the answers instantly, the writing along would take more than a half hour! Loads of people are dropping the class. It's sort of an okay thing to do. I don't like this class.
I didn't have study hall today, which I'm growing to love, but I did have gym. Naomi, keep telling yourself you still hate gym, even though you know that's not true. Not once today did I get really frustrated and upset at myself because I did something stupid in a game. No, we played every body's it, and got into partners and I was with who I was partners with first day. For all his basketball shirts and annoying football friends, he's pretty nice and cool. There were worse people in the class. Then we played group games. it was cool. Gym class is my favorite still, the people are nice mostly. Do I found myself actually excited for gym? Oh wow, I think I do.
The nice thing about school at the moment(and possibly about high school in general? I'm not sure) is how unsure everybody is in terms of friends, that they're just willing to talk to everyone. The mornings are great, the position of my science room is brilliant. I was talking to three or four girls in the hallway that morning, most I had never talked to before and it was okay because they weren't sure what to say, either. Same with Geometry, and gym especially. I've talked to so many people, oddly, and they don't care if you talk to them either and it's really relaxed and I haven't developed a burning hatred for anyone yet. that's what's so cool. it's one of my favorite things about it.
*In relation to my Geometry teacher, again, when she asked us questions about ourselves on one of the first days she asked us to 'rate our shyness' 0-10, ten being the least, supposedly being the optimum. I used to think the idea that shyness isn't a sort of defect or major problem went without saying, but lately, I'm not so sure. The next day 'we got very few people under a 5...and we'll deal with those people as we go along'. What the hell? You'll deal with my three? (or was it two? I'm not sure. Three is fairest). That's horrid. Basically saying that I have a personality problem, a defect in my brain, that I'm socially inept, etcetera. What the fuck is that? that's sick. Horridly extroverted human beings, ugh, yuck.
Basically other than that, I just finished reading a book called Sarah's Key. I can't remember the author. But it was great. I'm going through a WWII phase at the moment. The book started out horrible and then halfway through it got absolutely unbelievable. Go read it. However, I do hope it doesn't give you a dream when one minute you're at a swimming pool in a manor house and then you're being moved to a concentration camp. Because that happened to me. Okay, I'm done with these books for the moment.
I can actually probably get this in time for Peep Show or something. Only 9:49, Jesus, I'm learning to use my time well. Other than that, go listen to Gold Panda, I'm obsessed with Manchester Orchestra, and Peter Doherty is wittier than you are I will ever be, regardless of his mental state. I bet that's why journalists fuck with him so much. JEALOUS. haha. anyway, see you guys some other time.
